A RIBO license is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. The license year is October 1 to September 30.

All licensees who obtained their license before July 1, 2024 are required to complete their 2024-2025 license year renewals by August 31, 2024. RIBO offers a grace period until September 30, 2024.

2024-2025 License Renewal Process

July 2 to July 24

  • Principal Brokers can access the renewal portion of IRIS, which allows them to:
    • Renew their firm
    • Renew their own individual license, and then
    • Optionally pay for all the brokers in their firm as a bulk payment.

July 25 to July 31

  • No Principal Brokers or individual brokers will have access to any renewal or payment functions. This provides RIBO staff time to process bulk payments.

August 1 to August 31

  • All individual brokers can now access the renewal portion of IRIS to:
    • See if their license has been paid for through bulk payment.
    • If it has not been paid through bulk payment by July 24, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET, they will be required to pay for their own license renewal.
  • All licensees who obtained their license before July 1, 2024 are required to complete their 2024-2025 license year renewals by August 31, 2024.

After August 31

  • RIBO offers a grace period until September 30, 2024.
  • A 30-day notice will be sent indicating that they will be suspended (Administrative Suspension), if they do not complete their renewal by August 31, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET.
  • Any broker whose license has not been renewed by September 30, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET will be suspended (Administrative Suspension).

October 1

  • Any licensee who has not completed their renewal by September 30, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET will have their license suspended (Administrative Suspension) and be required to apply to RIBO for reinstatement.
