Recommended Candidates for Council
Council recommends to the membership that Melissa Bajwa, Alyssa Keyes and Attia Momin be appointed to Council by way of a membership vote at the Annual General Meeting on November 7, 2024.
Melissa Bajwa
Melissa is the Vice President of Compliance and Broker Network Operations at PROLINK Insurance, where she is responsible for overseeing 30 PROLINK network brokerages and supervising over 200 brokers in Ontario and Alberta. Previous roles at PROLINK saw her managing the Commercial Group Insurance and Personal Insurance divisions. Earlier in her career, Melissa worked at TD Insurance, providing her with an understanding of direct insurer operations.
Melissa is an active volunteer including at IBAO and IIC, and has been recognized for her contributions within the industry including as one of Insurance Business Canada’s Elite Women (2022, 2023 and 2024), and a 2023 Women of Distinction award winner.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications from Brock University and is a Certified Insurance Professional.
Alyssa Keyes
Alyssa Keyes is the Brokerage Principal and Operations Manager at Keyes Insurance in Gananoque, where she oversees a brokerage operation of six staff. Her broad experience ranges from managing financial reports and trust accounts to greeting clients when they arrive. Alyssa is co-founder of the Young Insurance Brokers Council of Canada and has lobbied on behalf of brokers on provincial and federal levels. Alyssa has worked as a broker in both Saskatchewan and Ontario, where she was a producer selling personal and commercial lines, including farm insurance. She has held licenses in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
Alyssa was named one of the Elite Women in Insurance in 2023 and 2024 and was named one of Insurance Business Canada’s Rising Stars of 2024.
Attia Momin
Attia is the Principal Broker and Owner at InsureLine Imperial, located in Vaughan, where she manages a team of insurance professionals and is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations, as well as strategic oversight for the brokerage. Her brokerage has cultivated a robust client base, specializing in serving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various industries along with expertise in personal lines.
Attia has been actively involved in community service, notably serving as the Assistant National President of The Women’s Association, where she demonstrated her leadership and commitment to empowering women.
Attia is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in a joint program with Cornell and Queen’s University. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Ottawa with specialization in Accounting and Business Administration.
